In September 2024, the largest GO Outdoors store in Europe officially opened its doors in York, UK, marking a new era for outdoor retail.
ISI Global played a pivotal role in bringing premium outdoor brands like YETI, Thule Group, and Garmin to life in this spectacular 125,000 sq ft space. The YETI shop-in-shop (SIS) stands as a testament to the powerful collaboration between ISI Global and YETI, creating an immersive retail experience that showcases the brand’s rugged, high-performance products in a truly inspiring setting.
The background
YETI’s SIS in this flagship store holds the distinction of being the largest YETI presence in Europe. Spanning 1,400 sq ft, the YETI space is designed to offer an engaging, educational, and fully immersive experience that highlights the brand’s wide-ranging product categories, from drinkware to coolers and accessories. With the goal of creating the best YETI execution to date, ISI Global worked closely with YETI to design a space that elevates both the brand’s image and the customer experience.
Implementation
The space had stand out in terms of design, functionality, and customer engagement, ensuring that every aspect of the SIS was both practical and visually compelling. The integration of modular fixtures and a strong focus on product categories allowed for a seamless shopping experience, while the educational elements provided deeper insights into YETI’s high-performance ethos.
To optimize product visibility and customer interaction, ISI Global designed an open, inviting space with key focal points. At the heart of the space, we created an open and inviting layout that provided clear and effective categorisation, ensuring that every product category was highlighted in a way that was visually impactful and easy to navigate.
Key elements such as the Basecamp, a chill-out area with comfortable seating, and the Hydration Station were incorporated into the design to encourage customers to spend more time exploring the YETI range. The hydration station was stocked with fresh water and designed to refill customers’ water bottles, with a separate station for dogs, further emphasizing YETI’s brand values of durability, performance, and adventure.
The design also considered flexibility in fixture choices, with some adjustments made to integrate YETI’s branding into GO Outdoors’ existing fixtures. This adaptability ensured that the space not only aligned with YETI’s brand identity but also fit seamlessly into the larger store design.
Conclusion
The YETI SIS at GO Outdoors York successfully elevates the retail experience, blending product visibility, customer engagement, and educational elements in a space that embodies the YETI brand’s core values of durability and performance. By creating an open and dynamic environment, ISI Global has ensured that the YETI shop-in-shop is not only a place to shop but a destination where customers can connect with the brand, explore the full product range, and immerse themselves in the outdoor lifestyle that YETI promotes.
